Description & ecology

Promoted to primary-measured 2026-09-06: Corzo-Remigio et al. (read at source in the open-access Research Square full text) report a total REE concentration of 1,290 µg g⁻¹ in a herbarium pinna of this fern (single specimen BRI-AQ0147005, Queensland Herbarium; ICP-OES confirmation of XRF screening; Table 2 element sum 1,291.4). The study is now peer-reviewed: Plant and Soil 518:1979–1996, doi:10.1007/s11104-025-08111-0.

ΣREE follows the paper's IUPAC definition (15 lanthanides + Sc + Y); n=1 herbarium specimen, so the hyperaccumulation type is provisional.

The genus combination Sticheropsis milnei was published in this very paper; GBIF/Catalogue of Life backbone checklists instead place it as Sticheroides milnei (syn. Sticherus milnei) — the record keeps the name as published, with synonyms noted.
