Description & ecology
VALUE AS STATED AT SOURCE (Goudard et al. 2024, Ann. Bot. 133:573–584, doi:10.1093/aob/mcae011, Supplementary Table S2, ICP-AES): Sum REEs 2780 µg g⁻¹ DW (specimen P01315784; a second specimen P01315862 gave 654). Above the conventional ΣREE hyperaccumulation threshold of 1000 µg g⁻¹ (no van der Ent 2013 threshold exists for REE).
US link is by occurrence only: the ICP-AES value was measured on a Paris (P) herbarium sheet of unknown/Neotropical provenance, NOT a confirmed US population. GBIF records the species in the US (incl. Puerto Rico); confirm US-population enrichment before treating as US-documented.
Contamination note: herbarium foliage can carry surface dust; REE here are from acid-digested tissue but a field re-measurement with washing is advisable.
