Description & ecology
One of several southern-Chinese ferns reported to concentrate rare earths; part of an actively developing and still-provisional group.
Audit note 2026-09-06: the attribution '2018 Liu et al.' proved to be the review chapter Liu, Yuan & Liu 2018 ('Element case studies: rare earth elements', in van der Ent (ed.) Agromining: farming for metals, Springer) — a compilation, not a measuring study. The real measuring studies (Lai et al. 2005, J. Anal. At. Spectrom. 20:751–753; Lai et al. 2006, Talanta 70:26–31) are paywalled, and accessible secondary figures CONFLICT (an engineering review table gives ΣREE foliage 1,234 µg/g from Lai 2005; Goudard et al. 2024 give 3,000 µg/g citing Lai 2006). The stored 1,500 matches none of these and remains hypothesized until Lai 2005/2006 is read at source.
