Description & ecology
Native herb growing around the Carolina polymetallic mine in the Peruvian Andes; shoots contained 6,070-8,240 mg Pb kg-1 DW and 8,290-11,560 mg Zn kg-1 DW. Both Pb and Zn exceed hyperaccumulation thresholds and bioaccumulation/translocation factors were >1.
