Description & ecology

Herbarium-XRF screening (corrected to predicted ICP values) of 6 specimens gave a foliar Ni range of 380–5,100 µg g⁻¹ (mean 1,940), with 4 of 6 specimens above the 1,000 µg g⁻¹ threshold (Table 1; reported identically in both Disinger et al. 2024, Ecological Research 39:838–851, doi:10.1111/1440-1703.12495, and Navarrete Gutiérrez et al. 2024, Ecological Research 39:879–893, doi:10.1111/1440-1703.12504).

Facultative on the bimodal herbarium evidence.
