Cobalt hyperaccumulation is concentrated in a small group of plants from the Copperbelt of Central Africa (Katanga and Zambia), several of which co-accumulate copper. They are strong indicators of Cu–Co mineralisation and remain among the least studied major groups; many original records are being re-examined.
